Project Overview
NRC WWS was called to resolve a severe pipe blockage at the Wallasey entrance of the Kingsway Tunnel, a critical transport link requiring immediate and precise drainage intervention.
Using precision robotic drain cutting, our team successfully removed the obstruction before carrying out high-pressure drain jetting to clear debris. The final stage involved drain relining, ensuring the pipe was fully restored to optimal working condition without any need for disruptive excavation.
The Challenge
- A significant blockage was restricting flow in the drainage system at the tunnel entrance, posing a potential flood risk.
- Due to high-traffic location, excavation methods were not an option, requiring a non-intrusive solution.
- The client needed a fast, effective repair to restore drainage functionality with minimal disruption to tunnel operations.
The Solution
- Precision Robotic Drain Cutting: to remove the blockage safely and accurately.
- High-Pressure Drain Jetting: once the obstruction was cleared, the pipe was thoroughly cleaned to remove remaining buildup.
- Drain Relining: a no-dig patch liner was installed to restore the pipe’s integrity, providing a long-term, durable solution.
