Project Overview
During an active construction project, NRC WWS was tasked with a critical drainage repair to seal an open joint in a 225mm pipe.
The repair was successfully completed using a patch drain relining method, ensuring the structural integrity of the drainage system while preventing water infiltration and sediment buildup.
Despite challenging muddy site conditions, our team delivered an effective and durable solution to support the construction project’s drainage needs.
The Challenge
- The open joint in a 225mm drainage pipe posed a risk of water infiltration, sediment buildup, and long-term structural instability.
- The construction site was heavily saturated and muddy, making access and working conditions difficult.
- An immediate fix was required to prevent drainage issues from impacting the ongoing groundworks.
The Solution
- Drainage Inspection & Site Preparation: initial assessment of extent of work needed on the joint and site prepared for safe repair.
- Joint Sealing & Reinforcement: open joint was sealed with a patch liner installed inside the pipe, without the need for excavation.
- Quality Control & Compliance Check: the repair was inspected and confirmed compliant with site drainage requirements.
